Visitors to the Hub will have noticed that we have a new till in the shop. The till and Epos system will be of great benefit to us, specifically in identifying stock levels and for reporting purposes. As with all new projects there were a couple of teething problems, and we thank you all for your patience during the implementation process. Special thanks to the volunteer project team who worked behind the scenes and who provided support to our shop volunteers during the early days of the new implementation.

Hub activities continue to expand. Thank you to all who supported the MacMillan Coffee Morning held at the Hub on Friday afternoon 24th September! Supporters young and old enjoyed delicious homemade cakes and convivial company whilst raising much needed funds for a great cause.

On the 11th October, the Hub will start serving a selection of ground coffees in cafetieres; breakfast tea, Earl Grey, fruit infusions, and herbal teas in china cups and saucers; plus hot chocolate with, or without, marshmallows and cream. There will be a choice of home-made cakes, scones, tea cakes and ‘Ray’s Tiffin’, as well as other fayre available from the shop deli-counter. We look forward to welcoming you!

As always, we welcome new volunteers to help us extend our services to the local community. With the growth of Hub activities and our exciting plans for the future, there are many different ways in which you can get involved in addition to helping with shop shifts. Could you spare 2 – 4 hours per month to give back to your community?
