Afternoon Tea Special

Thank you to all who visited and supported our stand at the recent Platinum Jubilee event and Rose Queen fete. Our stand highlighted the wide range of local products we stock.

Our annual Open Meeting and AGM took place on 12th June and our Chair was able to report that 2021 was a good year, likewise 2022 to date with sales significantly above pre-covid levels. A three- year plan is being developed for the Hub; shareholders and residents are encouraged to give feedback to help ensure the Hub is sustainable and that our valuable community resource continues to meet the ever-changing needs of our local community. Questionnaires will be delivered to residents in the early autumn – please help us by responding and giving us your thoughts and ideas.

Afternoon Tea Special

The Hub Gardening club meets at 10 am on the last Saturday of the month, it is open to enthusiastic beginners as well as experienced gardeners. For further details, pop into the Hub and have a chat with Janet. In addition to a wide range of commercially grown local plants we also have a plant swop scheme.

We are keen to encourage more carers and those they care for, to attend our safe space between 2pm & 4pm on the last Tuesday of each month.

If you enjoy a gentle stroll and friendly company, why not join the Slow Walkers Group that meets at the Harrington Arms and walk to the Hub. When you finish your walk why not reward yourself with a hot drink and a slice of delicious home-made cake.  Weather permitting the walks start at 1.30pm every Thursday. Details of all hub activities can be found in the Hub or on our website www.gawsworthhub.co.uk

Cafe: Our afternoon teas, in traditional and gentlemen’s versions, make great gifts, alternatively why not just treat yourselves. You can purchase vouchers in the Hub and book a time and date with Janet. Remember if you have specific dietary requirements, please let us know well in advance and we will normally be able to tailor the teas to your needs. During the school holidays we will increase our range of foods designed to appeal to children.

We are hoping to extend our opening hours to enable more residents and visitors to the village to take advantage of our services. Could you or someone you know offer a couple of hours once a month to help on a Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4.30pm? To find out how you can be part of our team, why not pop into the hub and have a chat with Kathryn or Janet. You can also visit our website www.gawsworthhub.co.uk to have a look at our volunteer policy and current volunteer opportunities, you can even register to volunteer online.
