The variety of ways in which volunteers can support Gawsworth Hub mean that there is an opportunity for everyone. Our volunteers enjoy the social aspect of their involvement, meeting others and making lifelong friends. Over 30% of our volunteers have been part of our team for over 10 years!
Shop (assisting on the till or the deli counter)
- Various lunchtime and afternoon opportunities to help in the shop,
- either 10.30am – 1.30 or 1.30pm – 4.15pm.
- Weekend opportunities 7.15am – 10.00am and 10am – 12.30pm

We currently have a vacancy for a Communications Coordinator to manage and take responsibility for all external communications activities undertaken by the Society. Board meetings are held eight times per year, usually on a Wednesday evening. The Communications Coordinator role will be supported by volunteers who will undertake specific activities under the guidance of the role holder. A full role description is available on request.
As a result of Board rotation, in June 2022 there will be vacancy for the role of Company Secretary to manage and be responsible for the administrative functioning of the Society, ensuring compliance with its rules. . A full role description is available on request.
Induction training and ongoing support is available to all volunteers. Gawsworth Hub recognises the significant and valuable role that volunteers have in creating, implementing, and delivering our services and believes that volunteering should be a worthwhile and rewarding experience for volunteers. We hope that volunteers will enjoy their involvement and gain from it in terms of their own personal objectives.
